Malang \u2013 In an effort to accelerate data-driven decision-making, the Information Technology and Database Center (PTIPD) at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang has launched a new innovation, the Data Dashboard Application. This innovation is designed to present critical campus information in a single, integrated display that is easily accessible to leaders anytime, anywhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This activity is part of the implementation of UIN Maliki Malang's 2021\u20132025 Strategic Plan, which emphasizes the importance of digital transformation in university governance through the flagship Maliki Gate System development program. With this application, leaders no longer need to manually search for data across various units. All key data, including academic, personnel, and financial data, is now integrated into a single platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Data Integration for Governance Efficiency
The Data Dashboard collects information from all service applications that produce regularly updated data and displays it in interactive graphs and statistics, facilitating quick and targeted analysis. This first phase of development focuses on supporting data to demonstrate institutional performance achievements based on key performance indicators (KPIs). Key data displayed includes the number of active students by study program and level, the composition of faculty and educational staff, operational financial reports, and university rankings in various national and international ranking agencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Development Through Collaboration and Gradual Evaluation
The development process for this application was not a one-off event. The development team conducted brainstorming sessions, sharing sessions, and functional testing, involving the data source system administrators. After the testing phase was completed, the application was officially implemented and accessible through https:\/\/stat.uin-malang.ac.id, with a user interface tailored to the user's role and access rights. This application addresses the campus leadership's need for fast, accurate, and real-time data access. This represents a significant leap toward evidence-based university governance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Real Benefits and Challenges Still Faced
Some of the immediate benefits of this application include easier monitoring of institutional achievements, simplified accreditation reporting processes, and efficient cross-unit communication. However, the application's development also faces several challenges, such as the lack of standardized data reporting between units, unclear primary data sources for each business process, and the need for regulations regarding data access and management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As a mitigation strategy, PTIPD has prepared a roadmap for application development and encouraged the issuance of leadership policies to clarify the structure and responsibilities of data management at the university level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Towards Integrated and Sustainable Data Services
The development of this Data Dashboard application serves as a starting point for PTIPD to create a broader and more sustainable campus data ecosystem. Going forward, this dashboard is planned to be integrated with data from research, community service, collaborations, facilities, and other services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This innovative step aligns with the Smart Campus initiative, which prioritizes data-driven digitalization and efficiency.
