Malang, December 14, 2023 – PTIPD UIN Malang has successfully conducted intensive training focused on skills and understanding in Information Technology Project Management, in collaboration with Inixindo, a leading IT company. The event also involved the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP).
One of the key points discussed in this training was the differences in cultural approaches between public and private units or companies. In-depth discussions were held to understand that in public companies, habits are the primary aspect emphasized, while in private companies, achieving results plays a greater role.
In the context of organizational structure, participants are encouraged to understand that the key to an organization's success lies in the efficiency of the structure it builds. Key factors such as strategic importance, the organization's management maturity, a robust project management system, and the use of effective communication tools and techniques are highlighted.
Equally important, this training also highlighted the vital role of project sponsors in ensuring the smooth running of a project. The presence of a sponsor is a crucial foundation for ensuring a project's success.
The role of the Project Manager (PM) is also a key focus, with an emphasis on their responsibility for designing and managing projects within an organization. Furthermore, the importance of collaborating with external partners to achieve desired project objectives is a crucial point discussed in depth.
Division of tasks within the project team is also a major concern, where the PM must be able to divide tasks proportionally among team members to ensure the smooth running and successful completion of the project.
This activity also emphasized the importance of sharing information with stakeholders regarding project progress. The distinction between data and information was also discussed in depth, explaining that data is raw information that needs to be processed, while information is the result of processing data in a more structured form.
Effective project management is defined through the stages of initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and final reporting. Each step is crucial to the overall success of a project.
This training provides participants with in-depth understanding and a solid foundation for managing IT projects more efficiently and effectively in the future. It is hoped that the knowledge gained from this event will add value to their career development and professional success in the information technology industry.
